111 – Les Parutions

Ever since Beethoven wrote his last piano sonata and called it opus 111, the number 111 has enjoyed a certain kudos in musical circles – of which we are proud to take advantage, as Deutsche Grammophon passed its 111th anniversary in 2009. 111 years is a lot of history, and we have tried to squeeze into an array of products the “flavour” of the label, and to give an idea of its culture over 11 decades. The philosophy has always been “The greatest recordings by the greatest artists in the world” – something clearly borne out by the releases now on offer, both in terms of sound quality and artistic merit.
