  • 111 Years of Deutsche Grammophon

In 2009 Deutsche Grammophon celebrated its 111th birthday - a number with particular significance in music circles ever since Beethoven composed his final piano sonata Opus 111. In honour of this occasion Deutsche Grammophon set up a special website where it presented three limited-edition 111 CD box sets along with a deluxe book on the history of this long-standing record label.

In addition, music fans were invited to celebrate "111 Years of Deutsche Grammophon" and enter a competition on this website either by voting for their favourite Deutsche Grammophon album, by sending us a story on the theme of classical music or by uploading a photograph of themselves.

The lucky first prize winners Mr. Meeus & Mrs. Zwemmer are the lucky winners of our first prize, the seven-day paid cruise for two with Hapag-Lloyd Cruises on the yacht "MS Europa".

    Congratulations!

We were overwhelmed by how many people took part in our contest, so we would like to thank everybody for their great participation. Deutsche Grammophon is looking forward to its next anniversary.
