Growing up with Classical Music

I used to listen to 33rpm LP's at my granmother's home. I particularly remember Mahler's 1st symphony with Bruno Walter. My first opera was Il Trovatore at the old MET when I was 13 with my grandmother. I recall Brahms 1st symphony at my orthodontist. Music has always played a very important role in my life. Studying in grad school with headphones on, etc. Today we travel the world for opera and are devoted patrons to many of the great world talents. I especially enjoy Anna Netrebko, Elina Garanca, Joyce DiDonato, Juan Diego Florez, Joseoh Calleja, Magdalena Kozena, Cecilia Bartoli, Ramon Vargas, Rene Pape, Dmitri Hvorostovsky, etc. Opera can be very moving and celebrates the unique ability to portray drama through dialogue and arias. I am always amazed at the breadth of wonderful composers and the talented artists who carry out their masterpieces. We support many local artists and have traveled far to see the Divas and Divos in concert. Thanks to DG for manitaining a high standard of excellence in a challenging market.
